BigCommerce + Klevu’s Smart Category Navigation

Today, Klevu is excited to announce the launch of Smart Category Navigation with BigCommerce. This extension was released after the successful launch of Klevu on the BigCommerce App last year. 

Senior Solutions Architect, Joseph McDermott at Klevu has been leading the project and comments: 

“We, at Klevu, love BigCommerce and the flexibility they provide to their merchants to manage even the most complex functionalities, such as customer group prices and multiple currencies. Having already implemented our search integration and seeing success with merchants adapting it very well, it was time for us to power their category pages too.

So far our Machine Learning algorithms were only powering search, but the insights drawn will now be utilized to dynamically change the order of products on the category pages as well. From the consumers’ perspective, it simply means they are more likely to see the products they are looking for, much sooner.

As a third party on-site search provider, Klevu recognizes that the majority of searchers habitually use filtered navigation. Yet those who use an optimized and intelligent on-site search that learns directly are still the highest converters. This led to an internal decision at Klevu to combine the two and extend our partnership with BigCommerce as a natural progression of the strong relationship we already have.

Klevu’s UK Head of Sales, Ian Scarr has been working close with BigCommerce and writes:

This new functionality can be purchased as an add-on in the BigCommerce App and intends to automate certain merchandising features, increasing internal retail teams bandwidth and automating certain merchandising functionality. From a commercial perspective, retail companies will be able to combine business logic, AI and smart merchandising rules within category pages to serve and meet the demands of the modern customer.
