We caught up with Lauren Collings, Business Development Manager at Chilliapple to learn all about Chilliapple’s biggest achievements, why product discovery is so important to their clients and what she’s most excited about for the future of eCommerce!

What sets you apart from other digital agencies? 

Rather than our sole focus being software development projects and building one-off relationships, we are about building long-term relationships and dialogues with our clients and partners. Do you have advice for retailers looking to migrate to Magento?

There is lots for merchants to consider when looking to migrate to Magento/Adobe. Starting by familiarising themselves with the platform itself, whether they are new to Magento, or if they’ve used the platform but are looking to migrate to Adobe’s paid version. 

It’s important for merchants to evaluate their current website and determine what does and doesn’t work for them, consider the whole business digital infrastructure and internal processes. We’d highly recommend for retailers to consider speaking with Adobe/Magento certified developers or agencies to ensure the migration is seamless and done correctly.

Merchants/retailers should consider how much resource from their side will be required during the migration, it’s not just up to the agency to do the technical work, they’ll need to work in partnership with the merchants to support with the testing and quality assurance and to ensure needs and expectations are met. 

Any merchant will see the benefit of migrating to Magento/Adobe if they are passionate about eCommerce and looking to enhance their online digital presence. 

What is your biggest accomplishment so far?

As an agency, it’s not  about a specific win or about a specific client.

It’s not just about our discovery; design; development and deployment phases of a new build. It’s about how we, as a business, add value over the lifetime of our clients’ relationship with us. Our biggest wins are about our clients biggest successes.  

Why do you think product discovery is important to your client base?

Merchants need to stand out in the market and to do that they need to create a seamless user experience, that enables their customers to find what they’re looking for as quickly as possible. With the market asit is now, with so much competition in the market, it’s vital for both B2C and B2B merchants to keep up to date with changes going on in the digital market, as they can quickly fall behind the curve. Intelligent product discovery is important as it understands the users’ intent and personalises their shopping experience which ultimately leads to increased conversions and customer retention.

There are three key themes that we see a lot at the moment which are

  3. Personalisation

Leveraging data to understand customer’s intent and context and delivering the right experiences through AI, leading to a personalised experience, both in-store and online. It’s all about building 1-to-1 relationships with customers. Seeing how these key themes will develop over time is very exciting.

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk is a mantra for constant improvement.
